Anyone interested SF/F-research is welcome to join FINFAR. The Society aims at promoting all SF/F-research in Finland.

Membership fees

The membership fees are:
Normal fee 40€
Reduced fee: student/unemployed/grant researcher 20€
Supporting membership 200€

Membership fees are used to cover the costs of Finfar activities, including the Fafnir journal, the seminars and other events for the members, and Finfar’s MA thesis award.

Membership benefits

In 2018, all paid members of the society will get a 10% discount for all printed books at the Osuuskumma publisher’s webstore. You will get the discount code from the Finfar secretary after you have paid your membership fees for 2018.

How to join

You can join the Society by sending the information below to the Society's secretary. New members are accepted in the Board meetings, after which the invoice for the membership fee will be sent via e-mail. For a reduced fee, the Society may ask you for a certificate of studentship or grants, or the Employment Office’s report on unemployment. An annual reduction is granted according to the situation of your membership application date / January of each year; meaning that your fee does not change during the calendar year, if you find employment or graduate after joining the Society.
