Verkkolehtemme Fafnir sai arvostetun World Fantasy Award -palkinnon

Finfar’s Academic Online Journal Fafnir Wins World Fantasy Award

(English below the image)

Suomen science fiction- ja fantasiatutkimuksen seura Finfarin perustama verkkolehti Fafnir: Nordic Journal of Science Fiction and Fantasy Research on voittanut World Fantasy Award -erikoispalkinnon.

World Fantasy Award -palkinnot kuuluvat alan arvostetuimpiin kunnianosoituksiin maailmanlaajuisesti.

Yhdysvalloissa lokakuun lopussa vuosittain järjestettävä World Fantasy Convention -tapahtuma on myöntänyt World Fantasy Award -palkintoja vuoden parhaille fantasiajulkaisuille 1975 lähtien. Ne kuuluvat alan arvostetuimpiin kunnianosoituksiin maailmanlaajuisesti. Tänä vuonna palkintoraadissa istuivat kirjailijat Gwenda Bond, Galen Dara, Michael Kelly, Victor LaValle ja Adam Roberts. Fafnir on kaikkien aikojen ensimmäinen akateeminen kausijulkaisu, jolle palkinto on myönnetty.

Jos haluat tukea lehden toimintaa, tai osallistua spekulatiivisen fiktion tutkimuksen kehittämiseen muilla tavoin, liity Finfariin! Fafnirin ylläpitämisen lisäksi järjestämme kaikentasoisille tutkijolle avoimia seminaareja ja ohjelmaa alan coneissa. Esimerkiksi kutsu talviseen online-tekstityöpajaan on parhaillaan auki.

Kaikki vuoden World Fantasy Award -ehdokkaat ja voittajat on päivitetty World Fantasy Conventionin verkkosivuille.

Nykyinen, Vincent Villafrancan suunnittelema palkintopysti.

We are proud to announce that our society’s very own Fafnir: Nordic Journal of Science Fiction and Fantasy Research received World Fantasy Award last night. The current editors-in-chief are Boddhisatva Chattopadhyay, Laura E. Goodin and Esko Suoranta.

World Fantasy Awards are considered one of the most prestigious awards in the field.

They have been considered the most prestigious awards in the field, along with Hugo and Nebula Awards. This year, the jury consisted of authors Gwenda Bond, Galen Dara, Michael Kelly, Victor LaValle and Adam Roberts. Fafnir is the first academic journal ever to receive the award.
